Super Bowl XLVIII took place at Metlife Stadium in New Jersey February 2, 2014. The hype around this game was tremendous, considering it is outside in cold weather for the first time in years and it was the Denver Broncos number 1 ranked offense vs the Seattle Seahawks number 1 ranked defense. However, the game did not live up to the hype, simply because only 1 of the teams showed up. The Seahawks started the game right off the bat with a safety, an interception, and multiple scores quickly putting the Broncos in a hole. They continued to pile on score after score without the Broncos fighting back. The Seahawks defeated the Broncos, giving Peyton Manning another Super Bowl loss, by a final score of 43-8. This is the first Super Bowl Championship in Seattle Seahawks history. Also, Pete Carroll becomes only the 3rd coach in football history to win a Collegiate National Championship and a Super Bowl.
