It’s that time of year again! No, I’m not talking about Christmas and the holidays, it’s Homecoming season! This year is full of fun events in preparation for Indian Creek’s annual Homecoming game and dance. The lucky girls representing Indian Creek this year are: Chelsea Bonnet, Jenna Callahan, Brooke Spence, Amber Rea, Abby Bevilacqua, and Paige Geanangel. In their honor, there will be a Homecoming Parade held on October 9, at 6 PM. The parade will begin at the Wintersville Municipal Building and will end at the high school. The whole student body is encouraged to participate including the girls’ and boys’ soccer teams, Indian Creek High School band, ICHS Volleyball and Football Teams, and Key Club, all followed by the ICHS 2014 Homecoming Court. Everyone is welcome to line the streets and watch the exciting event, a first for ICHS! Also, the high school will host a Homecoming game pep rally on October 10, at 2 PM. There, the homecoming court will escort the homecoming king candidates wearing dresses of their choice. Five chocolate bars and one cookies and cream bar will be identically wrapped and chosen at random by the candidates. The one who chooses the cookies and cream bar will be crowned ICHS 2014 Homecoming King! At the game that night, it will be the girls’ turn! The game starts at 7 PM. The queen candidates will be escorted at halftime for crowning. The winner will be chosen much like the kings, but instead of chocolate, the girls will b given roses, five red and one yellow. Last year’s Homecoming Queen of 2013, Jocelyn Wolpert, will return to her alma mater to crown this year’s 2014 Queen! All of these festivities will be concluded with the annual Indian Creek High School Homecoming Dance! The dance will be held at the high school on Saturday, October 11 from 8 PM to 11 PM. Good luck to all of the royal candidates and we hope they enjoy every minute! This year is full of fun Homecoming events and is hoped to be the best homecoming season that ICHS has ever had!
