Name: Mrs. Hammack

  1. Where did you go to college?

West Liberty State College

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I truly enjoy fitness and sharing it with others

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

I think that I have always wanted to be a teacher. It is a very rewarding profession.

  1. Do you like ICHS?

Yes, I really like ICHS. Everyone has been very welcoming and friendly

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Jessie Hilgenberg, she is an IFBB fitness model and I would love to pick her brain about health and fitness as well as her nutrition

 

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

Yes, one year at a middle school in Texas. Twelve years at Wintersville Elementary

  1. Where did you go to college?

Mount Union College in Alliance, OH and the University of Steubenville

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I was inspired by the teachers from my high school days (Mingo HS, class of 1973

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

Yes, but I had to wait for the opportunity. Before I became a teacher I was a lab director for the Steubenville Health Department and the Health Commissioner for the city of East Liverpool

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

I love it!

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Paul McCartney because he was a Beetle

 

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

Yes, the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow and Indian Creek Middle School

The University of Northern Iowa

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I like working with young people and sharing the love of other cultures. It keeps me young.

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

I really love it. The atmosphere is really friendly and really nice

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

 

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

Three different school districts in Iowa, the most recent being my hometown of Cedar Falls, which I taught at for 16 years

To help students learn

Yes

Yes

Mark Price, he is a great role model for students to look up to

Bowling Green State University – Bachelor’s Degree

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

Majored in business, then later decided to become a business teacher

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

No, originally a lawyer

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

Yes

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Jennifer Lawrence, because she seems so content with her life

 

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

Catholic Central -8 years

Alternative School – 3 years

E.C.O.T – 1 year

  1. Where did you go to college?

Eastern Gateway – Associates degree in engineering

Franciscan – Bachelors in Chemistry

Kent State University – Teaching License

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I wanted to be home when my children were home and I loved teaching them

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

No, I started my career as a research Chemist at the National Steel Corporation and Pittsburgh Testing Labs

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

I have not been here long enough to make a comment

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Rachel Carpson who is now deceased, but she championed the cause for a chemical-free world. She wrote the book “Silent Spring” and was credited with advancing the global environmental movement

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

Belmont Technical College, Youngstown State University, Eastern Gateway Community College, Toronto HS, Conotton Valley HS, Lakeland HS, Timken HS, New Comerstown HS, Central Catholic HS, and Claymont HS

  1. Where did you go to college?

West Liberty State College

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I always had fun in school. I really enjoyed the interaction with my teachers and classmates. One day it dawned on me that I could do that for a living. So now I am here at ICHS.

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

My junior year in high school is when I decided to become a teacher.

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

I love it. I feel at home here.

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

Ernest Hemingway. He lived an extraordinary life and was quite a character

 

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

I student taught at Brooke HS and Weirton MS

Name: Mrs. Hall

  1. Where did you go to college?

I have a BA in Professional Writing from Wheeling Jesuit University, and completed the ACT (Accelerated Certification for Teaching) Program at Wheeling Jesuit to receive certification to teach ELA GRADES 7-12. I am currently enrolled at WJU working on my master’s degree in Educational Leadership.

 

  1. What made you want to become a teacher?

I have always loved being around children, and as my children got older, I realized that I love the challenge of being with high school students.

 

  1. Have you always wanted to be a teacher?

I have always been interested in teaching. I majored in Education in the beginning of my college career, and then changed my path to Journalism

 

  1. Do you like ICHS?

ICHS is a great school. I am enjoying my students. The teachers here are willing to go the extra mile to help you out. I hope to be part of Indian Creek for many years.

 

  1. If you could have dinner with a famous person, who would it be and why?

If I could have dinner with any famous person, it would have to be Jesus. I would like to hear his life story from his point of view, as well as his answer to why God allows so much suffering in the world.

  1. Have you taught anywhere else?

I have been a substitute for Martins Ferry, Bellaire, and Bridgeport School Districts for the past three years. I was recently employed at Martins Ferry High School for a long term substitute position teaching English 11, 12, and Honors English 10
