MEET THE NEW FACULTY AT ICHS

As a new year begins, new faces begin to walk the halls of ICHS. Not just in the student body, but in the faculty. The 2016-2017 school year welcomes a new principal, assistant principal, and six new teachers. Get to learn more about the new staff by reading their answers to some questions the newspaper staff asked them.

Joyce Cammilletti – Algebra I & II

Q: What brings you to IC and how do you like it so far?

A: I used to teach down at the middle, but I have experience teaching high schoolers. I’m enjoying it so far. The staff and administration have been so supportive of me.

Q: Where did you go to college and what did you major in? Did you always want to become a teacher?

A: I went to Franciscan University with a major in Mathematics. I have my BA in Math and an MA in Administration. I wanted to be a teacher since second grade because I had a teacher that made it look like so much fun.  

Q: Do you have children? How many?

A: Yes, I have one son.

Q: What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

A: I love to travel. Most recently my family and I went on a trip to Italy to visit relatives.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A:  Anything Italian. Spaghetti, pizza, bread, anything!

Q: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: I absolutely love dogs, and have a mini pen.

Jennifer Tulodzieski – Choir

Q: What brings you to IC and how do you like it so far?

A: I love it so far! I love being able to restart and head-up the choir program because all students should have the opportunity to experience a choir during their time in high school.

Q: Where did you go to college and what did you major in? Did you always want to become a teacher?

A: I thought about becoming a teacher, but it wasn’t my first choice of career, but I decided to become a teacher because I wanted to make an impact on people’s lives. I went to the University of Redlands to get my BA of music, and then attended Duncan University to get my MM and Artist Diploma.

Q: Do you have children? How many?

A: Yes, I have one son.

Q: What is your favorite hobby or pastime?

A: I love spending time with my son. He brings me so much joy.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I’m a cheese freak and a coffee fanatic. Coffee counts as food, right?

Q: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: All of my degrees are in opera performance and I have sung here and abroad.

Mrs. Provenzano – Information Technology/Multimedia

Q: What brings you to Indian Creek? How do you like it so far?

A: I have been looking for a teaching position and I saw that there was a position opened. I really like it here, the students are great!

Q:Where did you go to college and what did you major in? Did you always want to be a teacher?

A: I went to Franciscan University where I received my bachelors in marketing. I also received my masters in business administration. No I have not always wanted to be a teacher. I started out in higher education, but for the past couple of years I started to want to be a teacher

Q: Are you married? Do you have any kids?

A: Yes I have been married for seven years. I have a daughter who is three years old and a son who is nine months old.

Q: What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

A: I love crafting!

Q: What is your favorite food?
A: I love Mexican food!

Q: What is one thing people do not know about you?
A: I am very obsessive over holidays!

Sarah Bolen – Spanish

Q: What brings you here to Indian Creek, and how do you like it so far?

A: I moved back to the United States two years ago and I have been looking for a school to share my passion for other cultures and languages. I love it so far!

Q: Where did you go to college, and what did you major in? Did you always want to become a teacher?

A: I went to the universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain and università do Roma Tre in Rome, Italy, and I also attended the University of Pittsburgh. I majored in Spanish and Italian language and literature, as well as French. Yes, I always knew I wanted to major in education.

Q: Are you married? Do you have any children?

A: Yes, I married my husband Antonio from Italy. We do not have any children, but we have a cat named Tommy.

Q: What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

A: I really like musical theatre, I used to participate in it. I play the mandolin.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: “Chico Fiesta is pretty bomb!”

Q: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: One thing people would be surprised to learn is that I am a very down to earth person, and I just want everyone to get along.

Thomas Mort – Intervention Specialist

Q: What brings you here to Indian Creek, and how do you like it so far?

A: I love it here, I knew Indian Creek was an outstanding school district, I always hoped to be employed here. When an opening came, I was fortunate enough to get it.

Q: Where did you go to college, and what did you major in? Did you always want to become a teacher?

A: I attended West Liberty University, I majored in accounting. I went to Franciscan University of Steubenville later on and became a certified intervention specialist. I always wanted to be a teacher.

Q: Are you married? Do you have any children?

A: Yes I am married, I do not have any children.

Q: What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

A: I like to go to Planet Fitness in my free time.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Pasta.

Q: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: I watch the Young and the Restless.

Q: What brings you to Indian Creek and how do you like it so far?

A: I have wanted to teach for a long time and a position opened up. I was happy to be able to apply for the job. I like it a lot. I love being in the portables because I have air condition.

Q: Where did you go to college, and what did you major in? Did you always want to be a teacher?

A: I went to Miami University and majored in Chemistry. Not always, but I love it now.

Q: Are you married? Do you have children?

A: I am married, but I have no children.

Q: What is your favorite pastime or hobby?

A: Work.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: I love any Italian food

Q: What is one thing people would be surprised to learn about you?

A: I am also a lawyer in the general practice.
